The Gryffindor common room is the setting for Moments at Hogwarts: The Gryffindor Common Room, the first title in Harry Potter Audioscapes. Pottermore Publishing has announced an English-language release for 17 November 2026. The format combines passages from the novels with music and sound effects to build an ambient listening experience.
What will you hear?
The selected extracts follow the school year from autumn to summer, keeping the Gryffindor common room as their setting. The emphasis is on spending time in a familiar Hogwarts location rather than following a whole novel from beginning to end.
In its 3 November announcement, Pottermore names sound design studio Granny Eats Wolf as its production collaborator. It describes specially recorded narration using ASMR techniques, an original score performed by live musicians, and Foley effects including distant thunder and a crackling fire. Relaxation is the publisher’s stated aim for the production.
How does it differ from the complete audiobooks?
Audioscapes uses extracts: it does not offer a complete reading of a Harry Potter book. In the official HarryPotter.com announcement, Pottermore managing director Jennie McCann describes a gentler approach to those passages than the storytelling in the full audiobook editions. Readers looking to hear every chapter should choose a complete edition.
HarryPotter.com says the English release is planned for streaming and purchase on audio platforms worldwide, with access details to follow on 17 November. The announcement does not identify the narrator or give a running time. Further Audioscapes will explore Hogwarts classrooms and grounds; their precise release dates have not yet been announced.
